However, if it is not properly maintained during use, it will not only affect the appearance, but also the function. So how should we maintain it during use to make it last longer?

Smart Lock introduces to you how to maintain a smart lock for long-term use?

Maintenance of the surface of smart locks

The lock bodies of smart locks for home use are mostly made of metal, such as aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, stainless steel, etc., and are generally surface treated. In daily use, corrosive objects or liquids should be avoided from contacting the surface of the lock body to prevent damage to the surface coating and affect the appearance.

The surface can be wiped with a clean soft cloth to wipe dust and stains, and avoid using hard or corrosive products to wipe the surface of the lock; furniture care spray wax can also be used to protect the surface gloss of the lock body.

Smart lock handle maintenance

In daily use, the most used part in opening and closing the door is the handle. Its flexibility directly affects the life of the door lock, so do not hang heavy objects on the handle to avoid damaging its balance and service life.

Fingerprint window maintenance

Please keep your fingers clean when using this product;

Dirt on the surface of the fingerprint collection window may affect the normal function of the door lock, please keep the collection window clean daily; the fingerprint collection window cannot be cleaned with water or alcohol, only with a soft rag to clean the stains and sweat on the collector window; it is strictly forbidden to knock the fingerprint reader surface with hard objects to avoid damage to the fingerprint reader and affect the normal use of the door lock; how to maintain the home smart lock for long-term use?

Lock maintenance

Keep the lock clean to prevent foreign objects from entering the lock cylinder pin groove and preventing it from opening normally; if the key is not inserted and removed smoothly during the use of the lock, a little graphite powder or pencil powder can be applied to the lock body groove to ensure smooth insertion and removal of the key; keep the mechanical key properly. When the card, fingerprint, or password cannot open the door lock, the mechanical key can be used for emergency opening.

Lock cylinder maintenance

The lock cylinder is the core component of the entire smart lock. Long-term use of the fingerprint lock may cause the lock cylinder to solidify and become inflexible. At this time, you can add lubricating oil to the lock cylinder to make the lock cylinder more flexible when opening and closing the door.

When the smart lock door is opened, do not pop out the main lock tongue or bumper at will to avoid not being able to close the door when closing it, and also destroying the lock body structure.

Replace the battery in time

Please replace the battery in time when the low voltage alarm sounds to avoid affecting the normal use of the door lock.

Open the battery cover regularly to check the battery to prevent battery oxidation and leakage, especially in the rainy season. If oxidation is found, please replace the battery in time.

Regular data backup

The database should be backed up once a month and updated in time.

Regular inspection

It is best to do a comprehensive inspection of the smart door lock once every six months or a year. Check whether the fixing screws of the smart door lock, the door lock handle and other key components are loose. If they are loose, they must be fixed to avoid affecting the normal opening of the smart door lock.
